About Candid Tutors
Candid Tutors is operated by Hassan Abbas and provides online Maths tuition in the UK. You can contact us at habbastutors@gmail.com or on +44 7922 359095. By booking or purchasing a service, the person making the purchase agrees to these terms and confirms that they are at least 18 or authorised by the relevant parent or guardian.
Private tuition bookings
One-to-one tuition costs £30 per hour. A tuition slot is confirmed only after successful payment and a confirmation email. Availability shown online may change until payment is completed.
Lessons are delivered online using Zoom, Microsoft Teams or another mutually agreed platform. If meeting or joining details are not specified during booking, they will be sent to the booking email address before the session. The customer is responsible for providing an accurate email address, checking spam or junk folders, and having a suitable device, internet connection and learning environment.
Cancellations, rescheduling and missed lessons
Please email us at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time to request cancellation or rescheduling. With at least 24 hours’ notice, the fee may be refunded or transferred to an agreed replacement slot. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice and missed lessons are normally non-refundable because the time has been reserved and may not be rebooked.
If Candid Tutors cancels a paid lesson, you may choose a reasonable replacement time or a full refund for that lesson. We may also reschedule or refund where technical failure prevents the lesson from being delivered. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Cooling-off rights
Consumers who book online may have a legal 14-day cancellation period. If you ask for a lesson to take place during that period, you request that the service begins early. If the lesson is fully delivered, the right to cancel that service may end; if it is partly delivered before cancellation, a proportionate charge may apply. Statutory rights remain unaffected.
Foundation course membership
The Foundation GCSE Maths course costs £4.99 per month and is hosted and billed through Skool. Membership renews monthly until cancelled. You can cancel future renewals through your Skool account; access normally continues until the end of the paid billing period. The Skool checkout and applicable platform terms form part of that purchase.
If digital course access starts immediately, the purchaser may be asked at checkout to consent to immediate supply and acknowledge how this affects the 14-day cancellation right. This does not affect legal remedies if digital content is faulty, not as described or not supplied with reasonable care.
Student conduct and safeguarding
Students are expected to attend on time, participate respectfully and use the lesson only for learning. A parent or guardian remains responsible for the student’s welfare and appropriate supervision outside the tutor’s teaching role. We may end a lesson or service where there is abusive, unsafe or inappropriate behaviour. Safeguarding concerns may be recorded and disclosed to an appropriate person or authority where necessary.
Teaching outcomes
Tuition is tailored to support understanding, practice and exam preparation, but no particular grade, examination result or rate of progress is guaranteed. Students remain responsible for attendance, independent work and following school or exam-centre requirements.
Website and materials
Website content and teaching materials are provided for personal educational use. Unless permission is given, they must not be copied, republished, sold, shared publicly or used commercially. General website information is not a substitute for advice based on an individual student’s circumstances.
Liability and changes
We do not exclude liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or breach of statutory consumer rights. Subject to those rights, Candid Tutors is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable or for failures caused by events outside reasonable control.
We may update these terms for future bookings or memberships. Material changes will not retrospectively remove rights already acquired. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and consumers retain any mandatory rights to bring a claim in another applicable UK court.
